Weblog > The Unit Cube
The Unit Cube is one perfect cube of silver, divided into two complementary fractals, on a base of black marble by Bathsheba Grossman.
Bathsheba Grossman is an artist exploring math and science in sculpture. If we could ignore the Pauli exclusion principle for a moment, the pair would lock together into a solid cube.
They have done so and made is visible via an animation on the website. There you can also find much more lovely interesting mathematical objects made by using a metal-printing process. There are also some laser-etched math models. Happy Puzzling!
