Welcome back puzzle fans! Today I have the Cast Starfish designed by a famed Japanese puzzle designer by the name of Akio Yamamoto and manufactured by Hanayama. This is only one of several sea life puzzles that Mr. Yamamoto has made over the years. The goal of the puzzle is to free the ring (which is two mackerel fish) from the starfish. I picked this one first because it reminded me of the time I visited Monterey Bay in California. The main reason I took a trip to that town was for the aquarium. If you have not been there, I highly suggest going. Little did I know that the whole town is a lot of fun! It can be kind of expensive to hang out in such a tourist area so I rented a hotel in a neighboring city which was very close and stayed away from most tourist traps. Although walking on pebble beach was free so I was there a lot! On most visits to Monterey it was cloudy but not that time and as I was walking by the beach I found a big starfish. It was pretty cool to see because I’ve never seen one in real life. It might not be the best story but it means a lot to me.
