Cross Cross

CrossCross Puzzle

The object of CrossCross Puzzle is to make each square get to zero. Tap on a square and all the squares in that row and column will decrease by 1.

I’ve seen this type of puzzle before.

CrossCross has 168 free levels. Of those, I’ve done 84 of them. Sorry for not completing them all. But there are so many other puzzle apps that I must investigate.

You might think that the solution is to automatically tap the highest numbers. Not necessarily.

CrossCross Puzzle does not make the list of Best Puzzle Apps of 2012, but hey, it’s free and [Read More...]

Sidewinder

Sidewinder

My torturous adventure with wire puzzles continues this week with another fiendish puzzle, the Sidewinder. This is made by PuzzleMaster and it’s one of the hardest puzzles that I’ve tried so far. The goal is to remove the red string.

On top of being a very difficult puzzle to solve, the Sidewinder is a mixture of wire and string. If that’s not enough to scare you off, you’re one brave puzzler. Bloxorz

bloxorz1

Today’s game is called Bloxorz.   I remember being introduced to this game on the computer.  The friend who introduced it to me had gotten to level 23 already.  I played it and was instantly hooked at finishing it.  I then got an android phone and started playing it on there.  They had even more levels on there and they were different then the computer ones.  Well now that I’m hooked I had to play it all the way through.

The goal of the game is easy enough; move the 3d rectangle into the hole.  You [Read More...]

BeeCells Lite: free puzzle app for iphone & ipad

BeeCells Lite

The object of BeeCells Lite is to move the colored tiles around – one at a time – until they form clusters of 6 or more. They will disappear, you will score points, and the program will randomly generate new colored cells.

I thought that my top score of 405 was pretty darn good. I’ve played this puzzle app for several hours. Then I checked the leaderboard. First, my score only put me in the top 45%. Second, the top score is over 85,000.

I am flabbergasted that someone could achieve that. Furthermore, many other players have scored in the [Read More...]

Hungarian Tower of Babel puzzle

HPIM4212

This week we have the Hungarian Tower of Babel puzzle.  This is an old school puzzle that came out around the same time as the Rubik’s cube.  I don’t remember seeing this puzzle as a kid but I wish did I because it is a lot of fun.  The goal is to scramble up the colors and then place the colors back in place.  There is an added difficulty because each color goes from a very light to dark.  I have not quite solved it yet but I’ve been having a great time playing [Read More...]
