Offset Cube – first prototype

Other than its exotic cube appearance, Offset Cube looks like a regular 2x2x7 puzzle Rubik’s cube style. However, the axes of the inner 1x2x2 have an offset by half of the width of a piece. Because of this, pieces can change layer while playing the puzzle. This makes the puzzle harder to solve. In this puzzle cube toy, it is possible to turn and scramble all the layers. What’s special about it? You may notice that even if you make some turns, it remains smooth. You can continue turning it even upside down.

You might be surprised that the pieces are suddenly no longer aligned while you are turning the layers of this cube and there’s an offset. You can turn it in the other direction and then end up creating a larger offset. The functionality of the pieces and layers is the best thing about this puzzle toy. You can actually get rid of the offset with your puzzle solving skills. You can take apart all the pieces to see the mechanism of this puzzle cube. Let’s see how you can figure out the solutions to this puzzle toy. You can purchase this exotic puzzle toy at Puzzle Master.
