I was completely stunned to see the high definition shot of this jumping spider. Thomas Shahan captured this photo to show how spiders interact with other organisms. Thomas also wished to show that jumping spiders are somewhat intrepid and unlike black widows that try to evade humans.
About the Jumping Spider
When Thomas tried to capture the photo of this jumping spider, he did not force the spider to do anything. Although he already had extensive experience and knowledge in taking pictures of arthropods, Thomas admitted that it was never easy to get a single shot. According to Thomas, the two secrets to successful macro camerawork are knowing the actions and personality of the the arthropod and taking large amount of shots.
About the Artist
Thomas Shahan is a photographer who has great passion for capturing macro images of arthropods. He allows his subjects to behave naturally. All the spiders in his photos are alive and in good condition. The best thing about Thomas as a photographer is that he doesn’t physically hamper the movements of the arthropods in any manner. He always tries to take pictures of spiders in their natural environment.
