I find this Lego Dolphin amazing! I am convinced that Nathan is a great master when it comes to constructing and conceptualizing Lego brick artwork. What skill, creativity and rich imagination he used in order to create such a mind boggling masterpiece!
About the Lego Dolphin
Nathan is popularly known as a brick artist, and he used Lego bricks to sculpt this dolphin. Dolphin fans and scuba divers will definitely find this work fascinating. Nathan himself is a dolphin lover and a scuba diver, which led to the idea of creating and keeping a dolphin at home. This dolphin doesn’t need food or water. It is made of plastic, so it will last for many years. Let me share with you just a little bit more trivia about this interesting art piece. Nathan worked with the Make-A-Wish foundation to grant a wish for a special little girl who loves both Lego and dolphins. This sculpture was his gift to that little girl.
About the Artist
Nathan Sawaya is a New York-based artist who makes fascinating works of art. His recent global museum exhibits feature large-scale sculptures which were built with toy blocks. Nathan Sawaya’s art is presently touring museums in a show entitled, The Art of the Brick. It’s the first exhibition ever that concentrates solely on LEGO as an art medium. Nathan currently has more than 2.5 million colored bricks in his New York and Los Angeles art studios. His work is enthusiastically and meticulously crafted. Nathan’s skill to transform LEGO bricks into something novel, his dedication to scale and color excellence, and the way he intellectualizes the action of the subject matter, allow him to transform an ordinary toy into a fine work of art.
