Slither Link
A few years ago I received an email with the question to put a link to a Japanese Puzzle website. As a reward the would sent me a Japanese Puzzle book and they did all the way from Japan to Europe. As present I received a Japanese puzzle book with Slither Link puzzles. The puzzle book was in Japanese so I had to visit their website to find out the rules and the way to solve Slither Link puzzles. I really got hooked up to these kind of puzzles and are now frequently downloading their puzzles while I could not find Slitherlink Puzzle books in Belgium shops.
You can also buy slithelink puzzle books online.

Kakuro - Kakro
After Sudoku now Kakuro wins popularity. Kakuro puzzles exist already for a long time. I found them in a Dutch magazine and in some puzzle books with different kind of puzzles. The difference between Sudoku and Kakuro is that for Kakuro you need to do some math. Sudoku with numbers is the most easy way to solve Sudoku’s, with images or letters Sudoku becomes more difficult to solve for the human brain.
The quickest way to solve Kakuro is
1. Use the basic Kakuro rules to assign possibilities to each square. You need a list of the combinations that make up a clue. For example 3 in 2 is (1,2), 4 in 2 is (1,3), 5 in 2 (1,4),(2,3), 6 in 2 (1,5,2,4) etc.
When the clues cross take the intersection of the sets. So if 5 in 2 crosses 6 in 2, the possibilities for that square are 1,2,4, the only common values.
2. Consider each clue as set of possibilities. It might go (123,56) on an 8 in 2 clue. However, the only combinations that make 8 are (2,6),(3,5) so the 1 is not a possibility and should be removed from the set of possibilities.
By using the intersection of the sets of possibilities in each square (8 in 2 crossing a 5 in 2 for example (1,2,3)), then by taking the set of possibilities for each clue (the possibilities of each square), and identifying which possibilities in the set are not possible to make the sum of the clue, the entire puzzle can be solved.

Tantrix is Back
Tantix is back. You can buy the Tantrix puzzle/game online at buy tantrix at amazon and in a lot of toy stores. More information about how to play tantrix can be found at the Tantrix Website.
Conventional games of strategy like chess are based on pure skill and the outcome between players of different ability is not in doubt. In Tantrix, there is both skill and an element of chance. The best player usually wins, but not always! While three or four player games are often more fun socially, the two-player version is more skillful and preferred by tournament and master players. Before you start, each player must choose a colour: red, yellow, green or blue.
The objective of Tantrix is to make the longest line (or even better, a loop) of your chosen colour. To begin, all 56 tiles are placed in the bag and each player takes a tile at random. Whoever has the highest number starts. Each player picks up five additional tiles at random so that they have a ‘hand’ of six tiles. The tiles are placed face up on the table in front of each player and must be visible to the other players.
