Isora is small Flash puzzle game based on the classic Gameboy game 'Pyramids of Ra'.

Via Kongregate I found a small and simple Flash Game called Rigby of which I think it's also some kind of puzzle game.

Object is simple like the rest of the game: Help Rigby to destroy the pesky blocks disturbing the aesthetics of his perfect, curvy kingdom. Game Instructions: Left and right to move, hold space bar or up key to jump.

For Rigby you need to figure out how to destroy all blocks. You need them in a short time frame and sometimes hit them twice. Also there are some blocks you must avoid (marked with a 'X'). Enjoy !!

One of the latest addition to my puzzle collection is a very nice version of a wooden puzzle called Red Beard's Walk The Plank.

This wooden version of Red Beard's Walk The Plank (aka High Seas Puzzle) by Authentic Models Inc. comes in very nice printed hard carton box including a sand timer. I can't wait to find more of these kind of puzzles instead of puzzle you can hardly get out of their plastic wrapping.

Object: From the deck of his infamous galleon Red Beard ruled the sea. Captured sailors had one choice. Solve the puzzle or walk the plank. If you solve the puzzle within 2 minutes your life is spared, if you solve the puzzle within four minutes 'galley slave for life' and if you solve this wooden puzzle in more than four minutes you walk the plank.

The 3rd World Sudoku Championship will take place in Goa (India) from the 14th till the 18th of April 2008.

The best Sudoku players selected in more than twenty countries will compete for the title of World Sudoku Champion of 2008. Until then Thomas Snyder from the USA has the title of World Sudoku Champion.

The Sudoku Championship will be supervised by the World Puzzle Federation (WPF). More information about 2008 World Sudoku Championship can be found at the 2008 agenda web page where more detailed information will be posted when available.

Yesterday I found in a local toys store some puzzles by Transposer. One of them is called Kaboolze - The Labyrinth Puzzle which is of course added to my puzzle collection.

The labyrinth puzzle consist of four double sided cards with colored parts of a labyrinth and some open spaces. Object is to layer the cards up to interconnect the the colored corners by a continuous path of the same color.

There are in total 10 solutions. One solutions for each of the four colors correct connecting on only one side and there are six more solutions for connection the correct colors on both sides.

The puzzle looks like the Trixxy Puzzle, only difference is that this puzzle has a colored path to solve in stead of one colored square on both sides.

For all Sudoku lovers I found a great sudoku website with a lot of different Sudoku's for free. The website is called Sudoku Slam and offers not only different levels of Sudoku (Easy, Medium, Hard) but also several types of help which can be used like 'Auto-fill in obvious numbers' and 'Disallow incorrect moves'. The function I like the most is 'Highlight Candidates', when you click on a number all the places on the board where the number could go are highlighted. This function can be used in many ways. The simplest is to find any row, column, or box with only one highlighted square for a number. That square is where the number has to go.

More useful options are:
- save / share
- print to pdf format (for easy printing).

Sudoku Slam not only gives you the opportunity to solve Sudoku's for free but also the way you like to solve Sudoku's. Of course you can also try another way to solve your favorite Sudoku puzzles. Enjoy !

Full Hex is a nice Flash Puzzle Game original designed by Erich Friedman.

The objective of Full Hex is to pass through each blank hex. The direction can only change when you hit an already marked hex with a black dot or a hex that contains part of the path so far, or the edge of the grid. Ledix is a small Flash puzzle game by Lightforce and is a Pengo / Sokoban like box moving puzzle game.

Your goal is to push boxes on correct positions marked with a star. Small levels but can be delightfully tricky and surprisingly difficult to solve. Use keyboard arrows to move the boxes around. Cipher is a challenging memory puzzle game for your Chumby, but if you don't have a Chumby you can also play it online.

For the people who don't know what a Chumby is a short introduction. The Domino Knight is a small domino based Flash Puzzle Game I found via MyGame.com.

Object is to drag and drop the domino tiles according to the regular domino rules from the conveyor belt on the left side of the screen onto the game board. You can rotate the domino tiles by using the scroll wheel of your mouse or by pressing the space bar. Use the hammer to smash a tile on the conveyor belt or game board to destroy it. Drop tiles you don't need in to the trash bin. If you use the fields on the game board with an hourglass loop you will slow down the conveyor belt and by using the fields with a coin will give you some extra points.

This is a lovely little puzzle game with 49 levels of domino challenges. Enjoy !

Via Smart-kit.com I found another Flash Puzzle Game by Bart Bonte (from Belgium) called Factory Balls.

Object is to drag and drop a ball from the tumbler, over the tools in the right order to produce the physics of the ball as shown in the brown box. Each level different tools are available, like different colors of paint, a pump, airbrush etc. If you mess up you can drop a ball in the recycle bin, but be careful, you have only 17 balls to complete all 14 levels.

Factory Balls is a fun and original puzzle game that start off easy and get harder as you advance. Happy Puzzling.

Wanted : Santa is a Christmas themed adventure / puzzle game. You must help a little boy to reach Santa's factory by jumping on the clouds and collect all the gifts and avoiding the bombs.

In each level you must jump from one cloud to another and reach the ladder at the right top in each level to proceed to unlock the next level. Watch out for the traps and threats along the way. Also, be careful as you make your way, the clouds will disappear after you jump on them. Collect all the gifs that you find to gain points and avoid falling down or you'll lose a life. Use the Arrow Keys to control the little boy. Enjoy !!

Via MyPuzzle.org I found a nice online version of Sudoku for kids.

The Sudoku grid is 4x4 and has four colored squares of 2x2. For this Sudoku you'll only have to use the digits 1 to 4. Each row, columns and colored square must contain one of each digit.

This kids version of Sudoku has three levels (easy, standard and difficult) and hasn't (as far I found out) an unique solution for each puzzle as in original Sudoku's.

Yoku Ruta is a nice Flash Puzzle Game like Pengo, only this time you will have to move blocks so you can get the key into the lock. There are different kind of blocks which all have a different kind of purpose. For you to find out how to use them within the time set to solve each level (30 seconds).

Use the arrow key to move around and press the space-bar to restart a level again.
Sometimes you really have to find out how to solve each level and sometimes you got to be creative.

At this moment I am at stage 1-8 (update) and going forward (slowly). I couldn't find a walkthrough for Yoku Ruta at the internet, but look at the comments for the the solution for the first levels or leave a comment if you need some help.

Enigma is an addictive puzzle game which is a re-invention of the discontinued puzzle game Oxyd. This new version of Oxyd has hundreds of levels and improved graphics.

The game principle of Enigma is simple: uncover pairs of stones as in the "Concentration" (also known as Memory or Pairs) board game. This sound simple but is isn't. You will first have to reach these stones. Your actor is a black marble controlled via the mouse - and influenced heavily by physics. Different floors show different friction properties, blocks might need a good bump to move in the intended direction, bouncers, slopes and rubber bands might be pushing or pulling your marble in a different direction than you’d like it to go. Sometimes you have to hit exactly the right angle to make the marble bounce of a block in space right towards your goal.

And then the blocks are hidden in labyrinths, protected by lasers and traps, and all kinds of puzzles you’ll have to solve first before being able to reach them. There are dozens of items you’ll discover and need to find out how to use right to reach the goal.

Enigma levels are very different in nature. Some levels are well-known Sokoban levels (except you’ll have to be careful to not move boxes you didn’t intend to) and similar well known puzzles ported to be controlled with a marble, some are vast labyrinths where you have to carefully balance your marble on a small ledge. Some levels require speed and mouse dexterity, others can only be solved by bright minds. Having to control 10 marbles connected with rubber bands and charged with different magnetic charges at the same time is just one of the challenges you’ll be facing in enigma. Such levels, that blend all these features into a unique mix can best be described as Enigma.

Via Free Online Games I found yet another Pengo look-a-like Flash puzzle game called Push-It.

Object of Push-It is to push the boxes into the designated colored areas. You can't push two or more boxes at once. If you ever make a wrong move or get stuck you can always restart a level. Use the arrow keys to move around. There are 30 levels and you can also create your own game map.

Push-It is nice and offers enough levels to solve, but I can't get used to using the arrow keys to move around or is it just how they are programmed. Anyway as far as I know you can not change this. Enjoy Push-It.

Via Puzzle Monster I found a nice little online puzzle game called Rainbow Box.

This puzzle game doesn't only looks like the Tetris variant of this puzzle game called Color Box, but also the basics of Rainbow Box are the same as Color Box.

Object is to match the pattern of Rainbow Box (shown at the left) by selecting a color for each of the sixteen white squares (at the right side). Be careful, adding a color to any square may also affect adjacent squares!

Try to find the right order and color to fill all sixteen squares. If you make a mistake you can find at the bottom of the sixteen white squares a button to start over again. Happy Puzzling!

Sugar Free Games offers a Christmas themed Escape The Room (or should it be Escape The Chimney) Puzzle Game called Santa's Chimney Trouble.

The story starts with Santa who is about to enter through the chimney and bring presents to the kids, but there's one problem: no one actually uses the fireplace and it is not connected to the chimney. Your object is to build blocks to connect the chimney to the fireplace and don't let Santa get out of the pipeline. To build a block, click on a free space in the game area, To scroll the game area use your mouse wheel or the up/down arrow keys. To destroy a block just click the bulldozer icon in the bottom right corner and then click the block you want to destroy (to cancel click the bulldozer icon again).

To begin you can start with the shortest way by connecting the building blocks but from level two onwards you need at least to create some kind of maze to let Santa reach the fireplace. Santa's Chimney Trouble has in total ten levels to solve and is a nice Christmas themed puzzle game which will keep you busy a while but also leave you with some time to buy Christmas presents yourself. Amir pointed me via an email to another Facebook Puzzle application called Numbrosia, a number/slider puzzle hybrid.

Object of Numbrosia is to turn all the numbers in the grid into zeros in as less as possible number of moves. You will be rewarded for using fewer moves than other players. By the different possibilities you have you can change the numbers on the grid:
- add one to or subtract one from a row
- add one to or subtract one from a column
- rotate a row left or right
- rotate a column up or down

Next to the numbers shown, each cell is also colored. From dark blue (negative numbers), lighter blue, white (zero), light red and dark red (positive numbers). This gives you in one blink the 'feeling' how you are doing.

For the people without a Facebook account it's now waiting for Numbrosia to be developed as a online web puzzle game. But I am sure that this will happens as it's got the potential to be an great online puzzle game. Happy number puzzling.

Today I received an email from Mike about a new puzzle game he designed for Windows , which is a conversion of a mobile puzzle game. You can download the Windows installer for Perplex via his website MegaDev by clicking on the cloud. Although this puzzle game is in Beta and is not completly ready (e.g. music has still to be replaces) you can download the game by clicking on the cloud on the home page of MegaDev, or you can download it directly here.

It's almost like the most famous puzzle game Bejeweled but in Perplex you will have to select at least three or more 'Blobs' which are connected horizontally or vertically by carefully move your mouse over the "blob's". There are also some wild card 'Blobs' which are colored like a rainbow and can be used for any color you need to create a long link of 'Blobs'. Bombs destroys all nearby 'Blobs' and skulls. Clicking 'Stars' clear the board with all 'Blobs' of the same color and skulls can't be linked.

Perplex is a very nice puzzle game which would be even better and more accessible when it could be played online in Flash. But don't let this keep you from downloading Perplex. Happy passionate puzzling !!

Today I received an e-mail from Anthony of ATK Solutions Inc. about their online Flash Kakuro Puzzle game (also known as Cross Sums) he programmed. As a person with passion for puzzles I check this one out and I was surprised about the user friendliness of this puzzle game.
It got everything to get you started from instruction, a practice round, and of course Kakuro puzzles in three different levels; easy, medium and hard.
To solve the Kakuro puzzle you can enter the right figure into a cell, but also the possible options (with the pencil symbol) or just add a question mark.

Pipol Destinations is a nice Flash Puzzle Game. It's almost a copy of the famous puzzle game Lemmings, but this time with people (Pipol).
This lovely game will keep you puzzling for twenty levels.
The aim is to dig a tunnel with your shovel (by clicking and dragging with the mouse) and to guide with your tunnel the "pipol" to their destination. The first two levels are rather easy, but from then it gears up ! Enjoy digging !!

Via SWF Spot, a website for fun with Flash, I found the best Flash Puzzle game I've played in months, called Combs.

Object is to match the colors to form a hexagon shape (called a TriComb). You can rotate Combs by clicking on a them (the comb then rotates 120 degrees clockwise). It's also possible to create a MegaComb, this happens when a just created TriComb breaks off and falls down in a comb (with the same color) below.

My experience is to keep the game board as clean as possible, otherwise you are not able anymore to recognize any comb and it becomes more difficult to click on a Comb to create a TriComb. Especially when you get further in the game and more colors are added (you start with just three colors; green, blue and red).

A great and addictive game which will keep you puzzling for hours and hours.

Via GameSheep I found a variant of the world famous puzzle game Bejeweled called Bola.
In stead of gems you now have to align glass balls on a smaller game grid.
The game objective of Bola is familiar, you will have to brake a certain minimum number of glass balls for each level in order to advance to the next. You can only swap two neighboring balls if at least one of them will enter a formation of three or more balls of the same color with the same symbol. Click on the glass balls you want to swap. You can only swap neighboring balls. Bola also features a online high score ranking.
I think the game could be improved if the symbols on the glass balls were easier to distinguish. For me it's difficult to see the difference between several blue glass balls. Happy Puzzling!!

Rialz is a nice little Flash Puzzle Game which reminded me of the PC game called Rail Road Tycoon. In Rialz you only have to complete loops of railway tracks by moving tiles around on the board and not manage trains using the railway tracks.
Game play is also basic. To move a tile, first select the tile by clicking on it. Then click on any empty space on the board to move it to the new location. After a tile is moved, a new replacement tile will be placed at the old location.
You score each time you complete a loop. The bigger the loop, the more points you score. Tiles forming the loop will be removed from the board.
Railz is an interesting puzzle game but just for a short while.

Frescoz is another multi player puzzle game like Patchworkz by WellGames. Object is again to completes shapes and pattern layouts with variously shaped glass pieces provided at the bottom of the game.

This time you have to complete pictures of twelve zodiacal signs on different levels to pass the puzzle game. Your task is to make a stained-glass picture of variously shaped glass pieces. Rotate the pieces of different form and color by clicking on them and put in to the appropriate part of the pattern. You can use the Trash Box to get rid of useless glass pieces but you will loose points this way. You can take this puzzle game a step further by creating your own levels. Enjoy !!

Rotate the puzzle pieces so that they fit on the multiple different puzzles.

Via the SmartKit website I found an extended version of Tetravex called Lady Bird. The difference is that Lady Bird has three different levels to solve (size of game board; easy =3x3, tame 4x4 and hard 5x5), this is two more levels than Tetravex.
Object of Ladybird is the same as Tetravex; drag the nine, sixteen or even twenty-five tiles into the grid area so that any two adjacent numbers are the same. Every game has a solution. Nice kind of puzzle for a few hours of fun. Happy Puzzling !!

Angular Momentum! is an interesting and original Flash Puzzle Game. For me an unexpected and new experience with puzzle games.
The basics of Angular Momentum is that for each level your ball will be dropped out of an "entry tube" into the level. From that point on you have control over the ball. Using the arrow keys to control it's momentum. The goal of each level is to reach the exit using the momentum of the ball. Once you reach the exit you will be transported to the next level.
Again a very original puzzle game which will keep you busy for a while.

Abducted!! is an adventure game in Flash. It's just another point and click / escape the room type of game. In Abducted!!, you play a human who has been abducted by aliens for unknown reasons. Object is to escape from the aliens and get yourself back to your home planet. There are four levels to complete, for each level solved a password is given for the next level, so you can return.
Strange is that you start in a normal looking room with normal gravity. I would love to see the game more in line with the story. Nevertheless nice but easy game to play.

Via the Rubik's Revolution website you can not only read more about the six different puzzles you can solve with the latest Rubik's Cube called Rubik's Revolution but also play two of the six puzzles online. The two puzzles you can play online are Code Cracker and Light speed.

The object of Code Cracker is rotate the cube (with the arrow keys) and light all six colors in the correct order. To find the first color in the code, rotate the cube and press the space bar - try any color. If you are right the color will illuminate. Now tap one of the other remaining colors to find the next color in the code. If you are right, this color will illuminate too. If you are wrong, all lights will turn off. Now you have to start back at the first color. This looks a bit like an electronic puzzle in my collection called Luminations (only this one is Pyramid shaped, four corners and three colors per corner and almost twenty years old!!!)

The object of Light speed is to find the side of the cube that is lit. Find the light by rotating the cube with arrow keys and press space bar if you found it.

Timebot is an amazing Flash puzzle game of controlling time and getting your past self to let you through doors. This sounds a bit confusing but give it a try and you will know for sure what I mean. For Timebot you really need to develop a strategy and all your puzzle skills.
Use the arrow keys to move the robot around the level. Stand on switches (squares) to activate doors and bridges. Press space bar to jump back in time to when the level started. You will see the past version of the robot. There is a set of numbers of time jumps on each level, use them wisely to reach the exit before your energy runs out. Collect all of the gears each level to open the exit. There are twelve Timebot levels to complete.

Le Courage - Challenge The World of 1366 is a very nice Flash adventures / advertisement by beer brewery Stella Artois. Therefor this Flash puzzle quest can only be played if your are of legal drinking age.
Jack from the Stella Artois Blog sent me an email last week to inform me about Le Courage. It's full of flash games and cinematic content that challenge the mind. Although it's more an adventure than a real puzzle game it's really formidable, as you are whisked back to 1366 on a cinematic quest to brew the perfect beer. Enjoy !
