Puzzazz - Twitter Puzzles

The social networking service Twitter is becoming a popular method of connecting with people and tracking events. Could it become a popular medium for puzzles, as well? Puzzazz, the puzzle site from Seattle entrepreneur Roy Leban, is venturing into that space.

Puzzazz this week extended its reach by launching new "successive reveal" puzzles on Twitter. People who follow the @puzzazz Twitter account will see clues for each puzzle in a series of tweets. The first person to figure it out and tweet the solution will get public credit in a reply tweet from puzzazz, and on the puzzle's page on Puzzazz.

Some of the puzzles combine elements of "Wheel of Fortune" and trivia games, such as, "Clue 1 of 11: W _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ C _ _ _ _ D _ _ ?" -- which would be progressively revealed to say, "WHERE IS THE SPACE NEEDLE?"

Other puzzles will offer a series of trivia-based clues, such as "The second model of it is in Brazil," and "It was patented in 1879." (The answer to that one was the Statue of Liberty.)

Leban plans to continue offering a few clues after a correct solution is submitted, to continue the challenge for Twitter users who haven't yet figured it out or seen the solution on the Puzzazz puzzle page. The separate daily and Sunday puzzles will continue on Puzzazz itself, in addition to monthly "supersized" puzzles.

Puzzazz also created a special tech crossword puzzle for TechFlash last month, and we're exploring ways of publishing more of those. Happy Puzzling!
