Word Reactor is a word game with physics like Bart Bonte's Must Pop Words.

Connect falling blocks to form words and make them explode. Reuse letters before they explode and score bonus points. You can also grab blocks and move them around or throw away.

Instructions: Click on a letter and drag to make words. Be careful as all the letters which will get in the cursor's way while dragging will be added to the word. Change The Nine is yet another holiday puzzle by Puzzles.com.

Twelve dark and three light balls are arranged into the digit of Nine as shown in the "Start" position in the center of the illustration above. The object is to change it into the digit of Zero shown in the upper left corner (the "Finish" position) in the minimum number of moves.

A move consists of moving any four balls, which form a small square. You are not allowed to rotate the square while moving it, and may not move any other balls. In a new position the square must touch at least one other ball. Lifting of balls is not allowed. An example of such a move is shown in the right column above.

I-T is a nice twits on several 'connected' kind of puzzle games. I-T is not only for IT guys, but also for puzzle lovers.

In I-T you need to connect all the monitors with the main computer in a right way. All connectors are in blocks, if you want to rotate the connector to the right – you need to click on the right side of a block, if you want to rotate the connector to the left – press on the left side. Zinlock is yet another simple but great puzzle game by Nick Kouvaris. The idea for Zinlock comes from the PC game Secret Chamber.

On The Edge is another puzzle game that looks like Bloxorz. This time it's not a 2 x 1 block you have to move around but just a 1 x 1 block and all tiles you step on disappear.

Regularly playing the video game Tetris may increase gray matter in your brain and make you think more efficiently, researchers in New Mexico report.

MRIs done on 26 adolescent girls asked to play the popular puzzle game for half an hour daily over three months found improved efficiency in parts of the brain associated with critical thinking, reasoning, and language and processing.

Scans also revealed increases in matter in the brain's cortex in areas linked to complex, coordinated movements and integrating sensory experiences, such as sight, sound and touch, with other information.

In Tetris, a computer game developed about 25 years ago, players score points by rotating colored puzzle pieces as they fall so they land in completed rows.

"We were excited to see cortical thickness differences between the girls that practiced Tetris and those that did not," co-investigator Richard Haier, a psychologist with the Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, said in a news release issued by his employer. "But, it was surprising that these changes were not where we saw more efficiency. How a thicker cortex and increased brain efficiency are related remains a mystery."

The study appears in the current issue of the journal BMC Research Notes.

The researchers hope future studies will examine whether Tetris playing and the brain changes it creates lead to improvements in other areas, such as working memory or spatial reasoning, and whether halting regular play causes the brain to revert to its previous state. [via HealthDay News]

Flipit is an interesting version of puzzle games like LightsOut.

Flip the tiles so that you are only left with white ones. the problem is each tile will flip it's adjacent tiles too. Complete 30 levels to win the game.
