LogiSquare: puzzle app for iphone, ipad Review

Logisquares

The object is to match the image in the top left corner. Tap on a white cell and it turns to 1.  It will not affect its neighboring cells if they are white. However, if the neighboring cells (horizontal & vertical) are not white, they will increase by 1.

Each cell must be tapped once and only once.  If a cell reaches 4 and gets increased again by its neighbor, it will go back to 1.

There are 64 levels. Right now I’ve done 1-48. But I skipped 41.  I mostly do LogiSquares when I wake up and can’t go [Read More...]

Nogglers NG-319

nogglers ng-319

The Nogglers NG-319 is a fairly common wood burr puzzle made by several manufacturers over the years and probably has other names as well. As far as burr puzzles go (a few or many pieces of wood that fit together to form an object);this is about as simple as they come. Out of 10 I would have to give it a difficulty of 1 to disassemble it; and a difficulty of 2 to reassemble it. No matter how new you are to these puzzles; it’s hard to believe it would take more than a few seconds to take [Read More...]

Nautilus Cube

Nautilus Cube

The Nautilus Cube is a very interesting looking puzzle.  You definitely won`t find anything else that looks like this.  The odd shapes that you make when mixing can be very confusing when trying to solve it.  Twisty Puzzling has made a fantastic review of this puzzle.

You can purchase the Nautilus Puzzle at Puzzle Master.

Thank you Twisty Puzzling for allowing us to use your videos.  If you would like to see more of his videos, go to Twisty Puzzling`s Youtube Channel.

The Cross Puzzle

The Cross Puzzle

The Cross Puzzle is about as simple to solve as you will find. However, there is a simple principle of Physics involve; and if you don’t twig on to it, try as you may, you’ll never get it apart. That principle is definitely not force. Force can probably be used to take just about any puzzle apart, but in doing so, it’ll also probably wreck the puzzle. The principle used in The Cross Puzzle is also used in other puzzles that have been around for years, taking different forms and made [Read More...]

Android Puzzle Game: Apparatus

apparatus

Apparatus is a nice android game where the main focus of the player is to create simple mechanical structures in order to guide one marble (or a few) into a blue bucket. This may seem like a simple premise but that is not the case because the bucket and the marble are often long distances apart. The user selects that apparatus and assembles them in a way that they can work together to provide a path for the marble(s).

The game is tricky and as such comes with hint help for novice players. This game comes [Read More...]

Dragon Cube

Dragon Cube

Dragon Cube is a fascinating little puzzle from the folks over at Gotta Solve It. Invented by their chief mechanical puzzle engineer, Doug Engel, the Dragon Cube is able to transform itself is several different shapes. This was first introduced in 2000 as an exchange puzzle at the 20th IPP, then called Perfect Ring of Eight.

The puzzle is built from wood and painted with eight different colors, producing a very nice visual effect. Although I prefer wooden puzzles, in this particular case I think plastic would have been much more appropriate, since you’re [Read More...]
